SOUTH SALT LAKE — A 25-year-old man who was a passenger in a car crash about 3 p.m. Saturday later died from his injuries at an area hospital, according to South Salt Lake police.
The driver of the car veered off the road at 2312 S. State, traveled across a sidewalk and struck a utility pole and a metal gate, police said.
The driver, Kuany Ngor, 24, of Salt Lake City, was also transported to a hospital for observation, released and then taken into custody on charges unrelated to the crash, police said.
The name passenger was not immediately released pending notification of family.
The cause of the single-vehicle crash remains under investigation.
