SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake massage therapist has been charged with inappropriately touching one of his clients.

Nevin Timothy Sheehan, 22, of Salt Lake City, was charged last week in 3rd District Court with object rape, a first-degree felony. A $100,000 warrant was issued for his arrest and he was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Friday.

Last July, Sheehan was giving a woman a massage at the Healing Mountain Massage School. The woman said he massaged her inner thigh when he "occasionally" touched her inappropriately, according to charging documents.

Sheehan reportedly told the woman "sorry" after she told him "no," the charges state.

An initial appearance in court is scheduled for Tuesday. According to a stipulation order filed by the Utah Division of Occupational Licensing, Sheehan cannot practice massage therapy in any way until the criminal charge against him is resolved. He does not admit to any wrongdoing in the order.

In a similar but unrelated case, a massage therapist at a Millcreek spa was charged with sexually abusing two women.

Kevin Rand, 47, of Millcreek, was charged in 3rd District Court with forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, and sexual battery, a class A misdemeanor.

Two women who scheduled massages at A New Day Spa, 3975 S. Highland Drive, claimed Rand inappropriately touched them. His next court hearing is scheduled for Friday.
