NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Law enforcement officials have identified the man who was shot and killed in a southwest Idaho home last week. According to police in Nampa, 34-year-old Andrew L. Shepard of Caldwell was found shot multiple times in the head and torso on Friday.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Five men who say they were sexually abused as kids while in the Boy Scouts of America are suing the organization and the Mormon Church because they say both groups fraudulently presented the Boy Scouts as a safe, wholesome activity for boys. The men filed the lawsuit in Boise's U.S. District Court on Monday.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Forecasters are predicting this summer's wildfires are expected to be most severe in southwestern U.S. states, Florida, Georgia and in some parts of California and Nevada. Officials with the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise on Monday issued their 2017 summer fire outlook. The report says heavy winter snow and spring rains will probably delay the onset of the year's worst wildfires.
STANLEY, Idaho (AP) — A group of city, county and federal stakeholders has unveiled a plan to thin thousands of acres of forest in central Idaho to cut down on wildfires in the region. The Times-News reports the Sawtooth Valley Wildland Fire Collaborative released details for several thinning projects last week aimed at getting rid of dead lodgepole pine trees.
