SOUTH SALT LAKE — A man was found shot to death in a car Sunday afternoon, police say.
South Jordan resident Matthew Holt, 46, was found dead around 2:45 p.m. in a late-model, black Mazda that was parked in a parking lot at 3200 South and 900 West.
Police were dispatched to the area and found Holt in the car with the driver's door open and a gunshot wound that did not appear self-inflicted, according to a written statement from South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller. The statement did not say where the wound was located on Holt's body.
"Not a whole lot of details at this time," Keller said Monday evening. "We do not have any suspects and we have not made any arrests."
Police are asking anyone who was in the area between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday and saw Holt or his car, to contact them at 801-840-4000. All calls will remain confidential and anonymous.
