MADRID (AP) — Air traffic in Spain's popular Balearic islands is catching up after a navigation company fixed a technical glitch that caused a three-hour delay on the eve of a busy Easter holiday.
Air navigation company Enaire said Palma de Mallorca airport was operating at 75 percent of its capacity by Wednesday afternoon for incoming flights after a major disruption earlier in the day.
It said air traffic had resumed totally for departures, most of which had been halted since around 2 p.m. local time.
The Menorca and Ibiza airports had also been affected but were slowly recovering the frequency of departures and arrivals, Enaire said.
Technical hitches also caused delays Wednesday on high-speed train connections between Madrid and the southern region of Andalusia.
The week leading up to Easter Sunday is one of Spain's busiest holiday periods and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea are one of Europe's top tourist destinations.
