(KSL News) -- A former Riverton High student and his parents are suing over a scuffle with the school's resource officer last year.
Brad Brokaw claims he was badly injured while being aggressively apprehended by the officer. Brokaw had to have emergency brain surgery to relieve swelling after the officer detained him and the two fell to the floor.
An internal investigation cleared the officer of any wrongdoing, but the Brokaw's believe the the officer, Jordan School District and Salt Lake County are responsible to pay for medical expenses, loss of earnings and emotional distress.
