CASTLE DALE — An Orangeville man was killed Saturday in a two-car collision northeast of Castle Dale in Emery County.
According to reports from the Utah Highway Patrol, Trevor Lutes, 41, of Orangeville, was traveling eastbound through the intersection of state Route 29 and state Route 10, when a southbound vehicle struck his car on the driver's side about 12:30 p.m.
Lutes was following behind another eastbound car, which had stopped at the intersection before turning onto S.R. 10. Troopers report that Lutes did not stop before entering the intersection and was hit by a southbound vehicle that had the right-of-way.
Lutes was transported to a nearby hospital under extremely critical condition, but died shortly after arrival.
Utah Highway Patrol says it is investigating why Lutes did not stop. No other injures were reported.
