WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI has been investigating since July whether Donald Trump's associates coordinated with Russian officials to sway the 2016 presidential election. FBI Director James Comey told the House intelligence committee yesterday that the collusion inquiry is part of a broad probe into Russian meddling in American politics. Comey also testified that the FBI has found no evidence to support President Donald Trump's claims that the Obama administration wire-tapped Trump Tower during the presidential campaign.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is going to the American people for support of the Republican plan to repeal and replace "Obamacare." At a rally last night in Louisville, Kentucky, Trump said, "This is our long-awaited chance to finally get rid of Obamacare." Meanwhile, top GOP lawmakers are proposing changings to the Republican plan to win more support in their own party. One change includes larger benefits for older and disabled people on Medicaid.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Some people close to former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide are calling shots fired at his motorcade an assassination attempt. At least two people were wounded yesterday when the shots were fired at an intersection in downtown Port-au-Prince. A senior executive of the political movement Aristide founded years ago says the shooters were dressed as police officers. Haiti's National Police say they don't have information about the attack. Aristide hasn't been in power for 13 years.

LONDON (AP) — Former Irish Republican Army warlord Martin McGuinness has died at age 66. The announcement was made today on Twitter by his Sinn Fein party. McGuinness led his underground, paramilitary movement toward reconciliation with Britain, and was Northern Ireland's deputy first minister for a decade. The party says he had a short illness.

BIG SUR, Calif. (AP) — Almost all the hotels, restaurants and state parks are closed on the south side of a downed bridge along iconic Highway 1 in Central California. Heavy rain in January and February damaged the bridge beyond repair, leaving residents stranded and keeping tourists from the community known for its luxury spas, posh hotels and scenic retreats. A new bridge won't be built for another six to nine months.
