BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The top-seeded Villanova Wildcats are out of the NCAA Tournament after just two rounds. Nigel Hayes hit a tiebreaking layup with 11.4 seconds left as the eighth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers beat Villanova, 65-62. Hayes finished with 19 points and Bronson Koenig (KAY'-nihg) had 17 despite foul trouble to help the Badgers eliminate a No. 1 seed for the third time in four years.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Xavier will be part of the Sweet 16 after completing its second upset of the NCAA Tournament. Trevon Blueitt (treh-VAHN' BLOO'-iht) scored 29 points and the No. 11 Musketeers moved into the West Region semifinal by crushing third-seeded Florida State, 91-66. The Musketeers shot 56 percent from the field, including 11-for-17 from beyond the arc.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — No. 1 Gonzaga stayed alive in the NCAA Tournament by holding off Northwestern, 79-73 at Salt Lake City. The Wildcats cut a 22-point lead to five before Nigel Williams-Goss hit a pair of free throws following a technical foul called on Northwestern coach Chris Collins with 4:54 left. Williams-Goss contributed 20 points, eight boards and four assists, while Zach Collins and Jordan Mathews each had 14 points for the Zags.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs absorbed their second straight loss to fall 2 ½ games behind Golden State for the best record in the NBA's Western Conference. Mike Conley's 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists led the Memphis Grizzlies to a 104-96 victory over the Spurs. Zach Randolph added 18 points for the Grizzlies, who led by just three with 5:45 left before going on a 9-1 run.

UNDATED (AP) — The NHL's Eastern Conference race has Washington in first place with 100 points, two more than Columbus and three better than Pittsburgh. T.J. Oshie (OH'-shee) had a hat trick and an assist as the Capitals beat Tampa Bay, 5-3 to wrap up a playoff berth. Cam Atkinson scored 79 seconds into overtime to complete the Blue Jackets' 3-2 win over the New York Islanders in Brooklyn.
