Mobley, Adams lead Bonnies into A-10 quarterfinals

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Matt Mobley scored 19 points, Jaylen Adams had 17 plus six assists and St. Bonaventure defeated Massachusetts 73-60 on Thursday in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

David Andoh added 12 points and Josh Ayeni 10 for the fifth-seeded Bonnies (20-11), who will play No. 4 seed Rhode Island in a Friday quarterfinal.

Luwane Pipkins made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points and DeJon Jarreau added 13 points and seven assists for the No. 12 seed Minutemen (15-18), who lost to the Bonnies for the third time this season.

Ayeni scored 10 points in the first half when the Bonnies shot 55 percent and scored 15 points off 10 UMass turnovers to lead 44-26. The Bonnies' shooting dropped off to 27 percent in the second half but they made 14 of 17 free throws to finish 22 of 25 from the line for the game.

St. Bonaventure led by double figures the entire second half, taking its largest lead of 25 points with 10 minutes left after a 9-0 run.
