WEST VALLEY CITY — A nurse at Jordan Valley Medical Center–West Valley Campus has been arrested for allegedly taking photos of a patient and inappropriately touching her.

Kelly Fred Lynn, 51, of Lehi, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of three counts of forcible sexual abuse.

Lynn worked as a nurse in the hospital's intensive care unit. On Feb. 28, he began talking with a patient who was involuntarily committed to the hospital, according to a Salt Lake County Jail report, and the two discussed her sexual orientation. Lynn then took pictures of the woman's genitals with his cellphone, the report states.

The woman said she allowed it out of fear that she would be further assaulted if she said no, according to the report.

Lynn allegedly touched the woman inappropriately and later that day took more pictures with his cellphone, police say.

"The victim again agreed out of fear," according to the report.

When officers were later contacted and questioned Lynn, he said he had lost his phone, police wrote.

On Thursday, one of Lynn's family members contacted investigators to report pictures of a nude woman were found on his phone, the report states. West Valley police applied for a search warrant to ping Lynn's phone and found it at his house in Lehi.

"Because this is an active investigation we are unable to comment at this time. We are cooperating fully with the authorities," Robyn Rollins-Root, chief nursing executive at Jordan Valley Medical Center, said in a prepared statement Tuesday.

No official criminal charges have been filed in the case.

West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said Tuesday that detectives "obtained photographic evidence corroborating this one case" but had not found evidence of any other victims. If someone believes they were also victimized, however, Vainuku said to call police at 801-840-4000.
