HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Ryan Taylor scored a layup with 6.9 seconds left to give Marshall the lead, then added a free throw to cement a 106-104 victory over North Texas in an epic Conference USA regular season finale Saturday.

North Texas had the ball and the lead with 24.7 seconds left, but turned the ball over on the in-bounds pass, allowing Taylor the chance to score and take the lead. The Mean Green then stepped out of bounds with 5.6 seconds left and was forced to foul Taylor.

Lawson's layup at the buzzer to tie the game did not fall.

Taylor finished with 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Thundering Herd. Jon Elmore added 19 points.

A.J. Lawson scored 26 points to lead North Texas (8-22, 2-16). J-Mychal Reese had 25 points.
