MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Chase Foster matched his career high with 22 points and San Francisco ended the regular season with 20 wins after a 76-65 defeat of short-handed Pepperdine on Saturday.
Foster dropped in four 3-pointers and the Dons (20-11, 10-8 West Coast Conference) were 13-for-29 shooting from 3-point range. Charles Minlend scored 16 as did Frankie Ferrari, which matched his career high. Ferrari added five rebounds and five assists. Minlend grabbed eight boards.
Lamond Murray Jr. scored 31 points to lead Pepperdine (9-21, 5-13). It was his fifth career 30-point game and came on 11-for-25 shooting. Nolan Taylor added 20 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double. Pepperdine lost three starters and four players to season-ending injuries.
San Francisco is the fifth seed to the WCC tournament and advances to the quarterfinals on March 4. Pepperdine will be an eighth or ninth seed in the first round March 3.
