Maryland-Eastern Shore rallies to beat Delaware State 65-64

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Bakari Copeland scored 17 points and Maryland-Eastern Shore overcame a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat Delaware State 65-64 on Saturday.

The Hawks (11-18, 8-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed the Hornets 41-28 at halftime and 48-36 with 12:23 to play. Maryland-Eastern Shore chipped away however, outscoring Delaware State 24-12 over the next 9:24, and finally tying it on a Ryan Andino 3 with 2:59 left.

After a DeVaughn Mallory tip-in gave the advantage back to Delaware State, Isaac Taylor made two at the line to spark five straight Hawks' points which gave them the lead for good.

Logan McIntosh added 11 points for Maryland-Eastern Shore, which shot only 37.5 percent but hit 13 3-pointers, accounting for 61.9 percent of its total field goals.

Mallory led Delaware State (9-21, 6-9) with 17 points. Devin Morgan added 14 and six assists.
