BOUNTIFUL, Utah (AP) — The University of Utah will be leaving Bountiful due to declining enrollment and the city's decision to demolish the building the university leases.

The Standard-Examiner reports that Bountiful city leaders decided last year to demolish the city-owned building where the school is housed and asked the school to leave. In addition, university officials say declining enrollment brought on my increased availability for online classes mean the university doesn't need the space.

Currently, around 350 students are enrolled in classes at the University of Utah's Bountiful campus, down from a peak of 600 to 700 per semester in the 1980s and 1990s.

The Bountiful campus will close in May.
