RENTON, Wash. (AP) — According to his agent, defensive end Michael Bennett has agreed on a three-year contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks. The 31-year-old Bennett has been with the Seahawks since 2013 and has 29 ½ sacks and seven forced fumbles.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Linebacker Robert Mathis has announced that he will retire following Sunday's final Colts game of the season against Jacksonville. Mathis has been with the Colts for all 14 of his NFL seasons and his 122 career sacks are a franchise record.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The Orange Bowl has always been considered one of the more prestigious bowl games and tonight the annual contest features the Big Ten against the Atlantic Coast Conference. The game has the 10-2 Michigan Wolverines against the 9-3 Florida State Seminoles of the ACC.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Islanders have placed starting goalie Jaroslav Halak (YAR'-oh-slahv HAL'-ihk) on waivers. In 20 games this season with the Islanders he is 6-8-5 with a 3.23 goals-against average and .904 save percentage. The club is left with two goalies on its roster now, Thomas Greiss (grys) and Jean-Francois Berube.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — In a matinee affair in the NBA, the Pacers are playing host to the Bulls this afternoon. This is a matchup of Central Division opponents and the Pacers are coming in riding a four-game losing streak.
