RUSTON, La. (AP) — Erik McCree scored 23 points and added nine rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to an easy 95-53 win over in-state foe LSU-Shreveport on Thursday night.

It was just the second all-time meeting between the two Louisiana institutions, with the Bulldogs winning each time.

McCree was on target for much of the night, finishing 8 of 10 from the field and 3 of 4 from long range. Jalen Harris finished with 17 points and Derric Jean added 13 for the Bulldogs (8-5) who shot 53.2 percent and finished non-conference play 7-1 at home.

Rashard Owens scored 16 to lead LSU-Shreveport, which had entered the game averaging 93 points per contest.

McCree drilled a trey 10 seconds into the game to spark a 10-0 Louisiana Tech run which grew to a 25-2 advantage with 11:44 to play. A Jacobi Boykins 3-pointer extended the Bulldogs past 30 (37-6) and they cruised from there.
