HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) — Drew McDonald scored 22 points and Carson Williams added 21 points and 11 boards to lead Northern Kentucky past NAIA-member Brescia 97-73 on Wednesday night.
Williams' 3-point play put the Norse up 19-8 with 13:22 before halftime and Northern Kentucky was never seriously threatened. The Norse led 52-30 at halftime. Cole Murray's 3 put the Norse on top 61-35 with 17:04 remaining.
Dillon Geralds' layup with 9:31 left narrowed the deficit to 70-58 but the Bearcats couldn't get closer. Geralds led the Bearcats with 20 points and six rebounds and Trey Howard added 17 points.
Northern Kentucky (9-3) had a 49-31 rebounding edge and posted 17 offensive rebounds. NKU has won the rebounding edge in 11 of its 12 games and entered the game averaging 42 boards.
The Norse's six-game win streak is their longest since winning six in a row in Feb. 2012.
