PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Emmit Holt scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Providence pulled away early to beat Maine 79-59 on Tuesday night for its sixth straight win.

Jalen Lindsey added 12 points and the Friars (10-2) never trailed, outrebounding the Black Bears 43-37 and outscoring them 32-22 in the paint.

Providence is 12-1 all-time against Maine.

Lindsey's 3-pointer sparked Providence's 18-2 opening run capped by Kalif Young's layup and the Friars led 41-25 at halftime. Holt scored eight points in the half and Providence held Maine to 31 percent shooting from the floor.

Providence pulled ahead 54-31 after a 7-0 run early in the second half. Ryan Fazekas hit a 3-pointer and the Friars led by 24 points at the 11:52 mark and were never threatened the rest of the way.

Wesley Myers scored 13 points and Andrew Fleming added 12 and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds for his first double-double for Maine (4-8).
