SALT LAKE CITY — A welfare check on Saturday led to police finding a woman dead inside her home.
At about the same time of the 3:40 p.m. welfare check near 550 N. Wall St., and after the woman was confirmed to be dead, police were able to arrest a woman believed to have been involved in the suspected homicide, said Salt Lake police detective Greg Wilking.
Late Saturday night, police confirmed the arrest of Sue Hickman, 53, who was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

Someone concerned about the victim had called police to check on the resident, but also knew where the other woman could be located, he said.
Police were also talking to others "who may have heard something," but no one else has been named as a person of interest in the case, according to Wilking.
"We just want to have a complete picture of what was said after this incident took place," the detective said, adding that he didn't have any information about what might have led up to the killing.
The cause of death and the name of the victim was not released on Saturday. Wilking said the investigation is expected to be a "lengthy process" with all the witnesses involved.
