NEW YORK (AP) — Right wing Cal Clutterbuck and the New York Islanders have agreed to a five-year contract extension through the 2022-23 season.

The team announced the extension Friday. Clutterbuck has two goals and seven assists in 25 games this season.

The alternate captain is in his fourth season with the team. He finished with 15 goals with eight assists in 77 games last season.

The Islanders acquired Clutterbuck in a trade with the Minnesota Wild during the 2013 NHL draft. He was selected by the Wild in the third round of the 2006 draft.

He played for Canada in the 2011 world championships.
