MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Marcus Keene drilled eight 3-pointers for 31 points and Central Michigan ran away from Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the second half to earn an 82-59 win on Saturday.
It was Keene's fourth-straight game with 30-plus points, and his eight 3's ties him for fourth most in school history for a single game tying John Simons, Jeff Majerle and Tommie Johnson.
Cecil Williams and Josh Kozinski each finished with 11 points for the Chippewas (7-2), with Williams adding eight rebounds. Central Michigan shot just 42.4 percent from the field made up for it with 15 3-pointers.
Trent Steen scored 12 points with 12 boards for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-7).
The score was tied at 39 at the half. But Central Michigan quickly took control, opening the second period on a 10-0 run. A Keene 3-pointer made it 66-51 with 7:20 to go, and the Golden Lions never threatened again.
