NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield will return for his senior season.

Mayfield made the announcement after he passed for 288 yards and three touchdowns to lead the seventh-ranked Sooners to a 38-20 win over No. 11 Oklahoma State on Saturday. The win clinched the Big 12 title for the Sooners for the second straight year.

Mayfield finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy balloting last year, and he is a top candidate this year, too.

He has passed for 3,669 yards and 38 touchdowns and completed 71.2 percent of his passes in one of the most efficient seasons in FBS history. He said he wants to come back to win a national title and claim another Big 12 championship for the Sooners.
