SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Chase Foster scored a career-high 20 points and San Francisco defeated Lamar 82-63 on Friday night.

Jordan Ratinho added 16 points and Charles Minlend 10. The Dons came in shooting 51.2 percent and nearly matched that Friday, making half of their 64 shots. However, they were just 7 of 25 from 3-point range after hitting 49 percent from the arc in their previous four games.

The Dons (6-1) are off to their best start since the 1999-2000 squad began 12-1.

Colton Weisbrod had 24 points and eight rebounds for Lamar (4-3) with Joey Frenchwood adding 18 points.

The Cardinals were hurt by 16 turnovers, 11 coming on steals, that the Dons turned in to 23 points. San Francisco outscored Lamar 48-34 in the paint.

The Dons led by six at halftime then went on an early 14-0 run, including nine points from Foster, to lead 52-30 and cruised from there.
