Scout leader pleads guilty to abusing troop member

WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) — A Boy Scout leader accused of molesting a member of his troop has pleaded guilty.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/2gujGtR ) that 46-year-old Lyle Mackay, of Herriman, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

According to court documents, Mackay invited an 11-year-old scout member to play board games at his house in March. The boy told police Mackay touched him inappropriate.

Mackay was not hosting an officials Boy Scout activity at the time of the molestation.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 30.
