NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Damon Lynn scored 24 points_15 from the free throw line_Rob Ukawuba added 15 points and NJIT beat Colgate 74-68 on Saturday.
Leading 68-66 with 39 seconds left, Lynn went 4 for 4 from the line and Tim Coleman made a pair of free throws to seal the win.
Lynn shot 15 for 16 from the free throw line and the Highlanders as a team were 25 for 29. Colgate led 19-12 on Jordan Swopshire's 3 and 22-15 on Will Rayman's 3 with 9:31 before halftime. It was the largest lead of the game for either team.
NJIT (2-2) went on a 10-0 run and led 25-22 on Anthony Tarke's layup. Colgate (1-2) led 34-31 at halftime.
Lynn's second-half layup with 4:08 to go gave the Highlanders a 61-59 lead they would never give up.
Swopshire led Colgate with 14 points and eight rebounds.
