EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Jaylon Brown was 11 of 15 from the floor to total 25 points as Evansville made 62 percent of its field goals and beat Morehead State 69-56 on Saturday.

The Purple Aces led 33-29 at the break, but Morehead State took the lead early in the second period when Xavier Moon nailed a trey. The Eagles were still up 45-43 with 11:53 remaining when Ryan Taylor hit a 3-pointer to take a 46-45 lead and pushed that to 65-54 with 3:53 left as Morehead State dropped its first game of the season.

Taylor finished with 13 points, making 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.

Evansville (1-2) took control underneath, winning the rebound battle 31-24 and scored 36 points in the paint to Morehead State's 28.

Moon led the Eagles (3-1) with 14 points. Ty'Quan Bitting added 11 and Treshaad Williams chipped in 10.
