INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Willie Mangum IV made six 3-pointers and scored 28 points to lead Eastern Michigan over Gardner-Webb 76-68 on Friday in a sub-regional game of the 2K Classic.

Mangum was 8 of 10 overall from the field, 6 of 7 from the arc and finished one-point shy of his career high from last season.

James Thompson IV added 15 points and 12 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double with Ray Lee adding 11 points.

The Eagles (2-2) shot only 38.1 percent but were 47.1 percent from the arc (8 of 17).

Jamaal Robateau was 8 of 10, 5 of 7 from the arc and finished with 26 points for the Runnin' Bulldogs (0-3). Tyrell Nelson added 11 points and eight rebounds. Gardner-Webb committed 24 turnovers, five from steals made by Ty Toney.

Mangum's 3-pointer with 7:49 left in the first half gave the Eagles the lead for good, going up 44-32 at halftime. Gardner-Webb got as close as six in the second half.
