UTAH COUNTY — Police from two agencies are seeking information about two burglaries that occurred over the weekend at the Jack and Jill Lanes bowling alleys in American Fork and Lehi.

The first reported burglary occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday at the American Fork location at 105 S. 700 East, according to American Fork Police Sgt. Cameron Paul. Four individuals broke into the Jack and Jill’s Lane and vandalized the building. The individuals threw bowling balls around and broke ATMs and vending machines, causing about $10,000 in damage, Paul said. They also stole an unknown amount of cash and some electronics that were in the building.

The second burglary occurred sometime during the late evening or early morning Saturday at the Lehi Jack and Jill’s Lanes at 113 S. 600 East, according to Lehi Police Sgt. William Loveridge. An unknown amount of individuals forced their way into the building through a back door and stole an unknown amount of cash. Loveridge said there wasn’t a substantial amount of damage at this location, like there was at the American Fork business.

Sam Wadley is co-owner of Jack and Jill's. His father is Jack.

"It's me and my dad," Wadley said. "77 years old and still comes to work everyday."

Jack Wadley has been in the business for more than four decades and his bowling alleys have become part of the community.

"You hate to hear it happening in American Fork," said one bowler.

The Wadleys hope that someone knows something, and it won't take another strike to bring down the people who did this.

"Any time you're broken into, besides feeling violated, it just hurts," said Sam Wadley. "Hopefully they can catch them. Hopefully there's a little bit of justice."

Police said it is currently unknown if both burglaries are related, but they believe they likely are connected.

Both police agencies are asking the public to contact them with information about the burglaries. Anyone with information can call the Lehi Police Department at 801-768-7110 or the American Fork Police Department at 801-763-3020.
