DORAL, Florida (AP) — Donald Trump says that if he becomes president, his first focus is President Barack Obama's health care law. Trump told voters in Florida, "My first day in office I'm going to ask Congress to put a bill on my desk getting rid of this disastrous law." Trump has turned up his attacks on the health care law since the government projected sharp cost increases for health care.
DORAL, Florida (AP) —Hillary Clinton didn't talk health care while campaigning Tuesday in Florida, but spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri said Republican Donald Trump's plan would strip insurance from roughly 20 million Americans who now benefit. Palmieri conceded that with the way the health care law is now, "cost controls are a big concern for Hillary Clinton."
CLEVELAND (AP) — Game 1 of the World Series goes to the Cleveland Indians, who beat the Chicago Cubs 6-0 Tuesday night in Cleveland. Game 2 is Wednesday night in Cleveland.
SYDNEY (AP) — Police in Australia say two young children are fortunate to be alive, after they were thrown clear and survived a theme park ride accident that killed four adults, including their mothers. Two men and two women died Tuesday at Dreamworld, on a ride called the Thunder River Rapids. A police official in Queensland state says closed-circuit TV shows the ride was coming to an end when two rafts collided. One flipped backward and tossed some of the victims into a conveyer belt.
SYDNEY (AP) — Officials say Australian police have flown to Rome to interview a top Vatican cardinal about allegations of sexual assault dating back decades. Cardinal George Pell, Pope Francis' top financial adviser and one of his most trusted aides, has long been dogged by allegations he mishandled cases of clergy abuse when he was archbishop of Melbourne and later Sydney. In recent months, Pell has faced accusations of child abuse himself when he was a young priest in the 1970s.
