Atlanta, Minnesota get picks in MLS Expansion Priority Draft

NEW YORK (AP) — MLS expansion teams Atlanta United and Minnesota United completed the Expansion Priority Draft on Sunday, with Atlanta getting the No. 1 pick in the 2016 MLS Expansion Draft and Minnesota the top spot in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

Atlanta won a coin toss and chose priority in the 2016 Expansion Draft. Minnesota then took priority in the MLS SuperDraft.

The teams will begin play in 2017. The expansion draft is Dec. 13, with each team able to add five players.
