HONOLULU (AP) — Lexington Thomas scored on a 34-yard TD run with 4:58 left and Evan Pantels kicked the go-ahead field goal with 49 seconds remaining to give UNLV a 41-38 win over Hawaii on Saturday night.

The Rebels (3-4, 2-1 Mountain West Conference) caused the only turnover by either team when Tau Lotulelei stripped the ball from Hawaii quarterback Dru Brown and Darius Mouton recovered with 2:56 left. That set up the game-winning drive capped by Pantels' field goal. UNLV forced a four-and-out on Hawaii's last possession to secure the win.

Thomas ran for 102 yards, Charles Williams added 85 yards on the ground and David Greene had two TD runs for UNLV.

The Rainbow Warriors (3-4, 2-1) took fourth-quarter leads at 31-24 and 38-31. Marcus Kemp had six catches for 126 yards.

The game was tied six times and neither side led by more than a touchdown.
