This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

I once heard someone say that accounting is the language of business. Well, if that is the case, Anthony Seow knows many languages. Anthony is originally from Singapore and naturally knows English, Malay, three different Chinese dialects and Mandarin. More than 30 years ago, Anthony came to the United States to study at BYU and majored in Accounting. Now, Anthony is fluent in the language of business and he's running a successful company called Tradimex Equipment & Supply, Inc. in Orem.

After graduation, Anthony began his career in a local CPA firm. Later, he was involved with the manufacturing and distribution of health, nutritional and vitamin products. He saw the potential of this growing industry and the need to provide quality machines.

In 1984, Anthony started Tradimex and later began supplying machinery and equipment to heath and nutritional manufacturers. Some of these machines include the encapsulating machine, which fills gelatin capsules with health products; or mixers that mix the formulation. Tradimex also sells grinders, polishers, inspection tables and much more.

Tradimex is known for providing the best warranty along with service, maintenance, on-site training, and warehousing a large supply of parts. Anthony tells me all the machines are manufactured overseas in China to meet Tradimex's specifications and then shipped to his plant in Orem where his staff tests and modifies the machines to meet customer needs. The machines are sold to manufacturers throughout North and South America. The main benefit to buying products from China is cost. Lower cost, good service and an outstanding parts department are responsible for Tradimex's success. Sixty-five to 75 percent of Tradimex's sales come from repeated customers.

Ever since Anthony came to BYU, he has stayed in Utah County. He tells me it is a hub for the nutritional industry, and that's great news for Tradimex Equipment & Supply, Inc.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
