Qwest has created a new DSL Support Center in Salt Lake City. This will add 155 jobs to Qwest Utah’s employee total of nearly 3,000 people. The new DSL Support Center will handle calls from DSL customers throughout a 14-state service region. For more information, go to www.qwest.com.

You may wonder who all the extra people are walking around downtown. The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists is holding its annual convention at the Salt Palace this week. The meeting is the world’s largest gathering of pharmaceutical scientists with over 6,500 attending delegates. The scientists are expected to spend over $5 million dollars in our community.

The Salt Lake Chamber and the Salt Lake community will honor President Gordon B. Hinckley as “A Giant In Our City” this Wednesday evening, October 29th at The Grand America Hotel. President Hinckley will be honored for his lifetime of enduring contributions to the greater Salt Lake community and its residents.
