INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The LPGA Tour will return to Indianapolis next season.

The Indy Women in Tech Championship will be held Sept. 4-10 at Brickyard Crossing.

The only other time this course, which runs next to and inside of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, hosted a women's tour event was 1968 when the 500 Ladies Classic was played in Indy.

LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan said Tuesday that the course is "unlike any other" in the series, and speedway President Doug Boles said track officials are eager to hold the event, which will feature 144 golfers vying for a $2 million purse over four days.
