SALT LAKE CITY — When confronted with the question of which is their favorite park in Salt Lake City, KSL.com readers who participated in a recent poll chose Liberty Park as their No. 1 favorite.
Of the 2,829 poll participants, 1,037 voted for Liberty Park as their favorite park in Salt Lake City. Sugar House Park and Memory Grove Park came in second and third place, with 640 and 274 votes respectively.
The other contenders were This is the Place Heritage Park, Jordan River Parkway, Tanner Park, City Creek Park, Brigham Young Historic Park, Ensign Peak Park, Lindsey Gardens, Fairmont Park and Cottonwood Park.
“Liberty Park, located between 9th and 13th South and 5th and 7th East in Salt Lake City, is the oldest and most prominent park in Utah,” according to the Salt Lake City official website. “Since its beginning in 1882, Liberty Park has been a favorite open-space retreat for thousands of people who have enjoyed its beautiful trees, shrubs and clean mountain air. Liberty is a place to connect with nature, a place to enjoy friendships and family relationships and a place to escape the daily cares of life.”
The park is home to the Tracy Aviary, playgrounds, a duck pond, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, picnic tables and grills, a greenhouse, a rollerblade path and more.
