(KSL News) -- There was a bear loose in the governor's office today! OK, not a real bear; actually he was quite tame.
The Utah Jazz Bear was honored today. "Bear" was just recently voted into the Sports Mascot Hall of Fame, as being one of the best in the business. Today Governor Huntsman and members of the Jazz management honored him.
Bear is the Jazz's first and only mascot. He has entertained the crowds at the Delta Center for the past 13 years.
Governor Jon Huntsman: "But guaranteed, there are few hall of famers who are covered in fur, who are silently eloquent and more beloved by the human population, shall we say. So it is with great honor and great joy that the governor today gets to sign a declaration."
And so, Governor Huntsman signed the paperwork declaring today as "Utah Jazz Bear Day" in the state of Utah.
Bear will be inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in Philadelphia August 15th.
