MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) — Troy Cook threw four first-half touchdown passes and UT Martin beat NAIA-member Bacone College 84-6 Saturday in a shortened second-half game.

UT Martin's 84 points rank as the third most scored in program history, trailing 97 against Bethel and 87 versus Concordia.

Cook hit Kyle Kerrick with a 45-yard touchdown pass 44 seconds into the game and the Skyhawks (1-2) rolled to a 63-6 halftime lead, scoring on seven-straight offensive possessions and getting two scores from its defense — on a fumble and interception. Cook's first-half TD strikes included 6- and 11-yarders to Caylon Weathers and a 24-yarder to Greg McKillion.

A NCAA rule allows for games to be shortened by time if the coaches agree, and the second half consisted of two 10-minute quarters.

But the Skyhawks (1-2) showed no mercy in the second half against the Warriors (0-3). Ty Brown scored twice on short runs and backup quarterback Kyle Akin hit Jaylon Moore on a 45-yard touchdown pass.

In the first half, Jaimiee Bowe scored twice on short runs, Marquez Grayson had a 3-yard TD run, Tae Martin returned an interception 36 yards for a score and Trey Warren recovered a fumble for a TD.
