PAGE, Ariz. (AP) -- A Utah toddler camping with his family on a houseboat on Lake Powell drowned when he apparently fell unnoticed into the lake, National Park Service officials said.
Ryan Adams, 2, of Logan was with his parents at the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area on Wednesday when the family returned to their houseboat to dry off from a rainstorm and have lunch.
The boy had been wearing a life jacket, but it was taken off so he could change into dry clothes, officials said.
The boy was discovered missing a short time later, and family members immediately began looking for him. National Park Service rangers and a helicopter went to the scene at Warm Creek Bay and searched for about two hours before the boy's body surfaced.
CPR was begun, but Ryan was pronounced dead after being flown to Page Hospital.
