DETROIT (AP) — Harbor Freight Tools is recalling more than 374,000 trailers because they may not have red side marker lights as required by federal safety standards.
The recall covers certain Haul Master trailers from the 2006 to 2016 model years with model numbers 90154, 42708, 90153, 66771, 42709, 94564. Also included are 2013 to 2016 trailers with model numbers 62170, 62209, 61730, and 69897.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says in documents posted Wednesday that without side lights, the trailers may be less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Harbor Freight will notify owners and send them a new tail light package at no cost. The company hasn't come up with a recall schedule yet.
