ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The pairing of two divisional leaders continues tonight in Arlington as the Texas Rangers entertain Cleveland's Indians. The Rangers won the opening game of the four-game series last night 9-0 to reduce Cleveland's lead in the American League Central to 4 ½ games. The Rangers top the AL West by 7 ½.

UNDATED (AP) — The tightest race in baseball continues to be the American League East with Toronto and Boston tied for first and Baltimore just a game back. Tonight the Blue Jays are hosting the Twins while the Red Sox are home to Kansas City and the Orioles are in New York playing the Yankees.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) — The second round of The Barclays, the first stop on the FedEx playoff schedule, is today in Farmingdale, New York. The first-round lead was shared by Patrick Reed and Martin Laird at 5-under, with Kevin Chappell, Rickie Fowler, J.D Holmes and Emiliano Grillo (GREE'-yoh) one back.

PRIDDIS, Alberta (AP) — Bad weather forced a suspension of play yesterday in the first round of the LPGA's Canadian Pacific Women's Open. As play resumes this morning Chella Choi is 7-under after 14 holes. In the clubhouse at 6-under was Stephanie Meadow, with Lydia Ko two back after a 67.

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. (AP) — The opening round of the Boeing Classic on the Champions Tour is today. The event marks the return to play of Fred Couples, who has been sidelined since February with back problems.
