BALTIMORE (AP) — Mark Trumbo hit his major league-leading 38th home run to help Baltimore top Washington 4-3. Jonathan Schoop (SKOHP) also homered against the Nationals' A.J. Cole, who was making his first start of the season in place of the injured Stephen Strasburg.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Adrian Gonzalez led a seven-home run assault by the Dodgers in an 18-9 win over Cincinnati. Gonzalez went deep three times and drove in a career-high eight runs. Los Angeles hit four home runs in the fifth inning when Andrew Toles and Rob Segedin hit their first career homers back-to-back.

SEATTLE (AP) — Kyle Seager and Nick Zunino hit three-run homers as Seattle out-powered the Yankees 7-5 in a game that saw both teams combine for seven home runs. Nelson Cruz hit his 32nd of the season for Seattle, while Gary Sanchez and Starlin Castro hit two each for the Yankees.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Kris Bryant's 32nd homer of the season backed the solid pitching of Jon Lester in the Cubs' 5-1 win over the Padres. Lester improved to 14-4, allowing a run on five hits over six innings and striking out eight. Jason Heyward and Addison Russell each homered and drove in a pair for the Cubs.

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets have placed rookie left-hander pitcher Steven Matz on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder tightness. Matz is 9-8 with a 3.40 ERA. He joins Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler among New York's heralded young pitchers on the DL.
