HALTOM CITY, Texas (AP) — A North Texas high school student is facing a felony charge after being accused of threatening another student with a replica gun.
Police say the student brought an air gun that is a realistic replica of a Beretta 92 handgun to Haltom City High School during the first day of class on Monday.
Authorities say the teenager showed the replica gun to another 15-year-old boy and threatened him with it.
Police arrested the student who brought the gun on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was taken to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center.
Authorities say the replica gun was treated the same as if it was a real firearm.
Haltom City is located just northeast of Fort Worth.
