MONROE, Sevier County — More than two months after the death of a girl who had just celebrated her first birthday, Sevier County sheriff's deputies have arrested the girl's father.
David Lewis Anderson, 37, of Monroe, was arrested Wednesday for investigation of child abuse homicide in the death of Siri Alexis Anderson.
Anderson claimed he had found his daughter unresponsive in her crib on June 7 at their home on Meadowlark Lane (1670 West). She was transported to Sevier Valley Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Details about how Siri died were not immediately available Friday. Siri had turned 1 the day before.
Anderson is scheduled to make an initial appearance in court Tuesday.
His arrest comes two months after he was convicted of leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle, a class C misdemeanor, according to court records. The court docket does not indicate if that child was also Siri.
Anderson and Siri's mother had a volatile relationship, according to court records, with each filing restraining orders against the other over the past year.
Siri's mother filed a protective order against Anderson two weeks after her death. That order was dismissed when she failed to show up for court a month later, according to court documents.
On July 1, however, Anderson was charged with violating the protective order, a third-degree felony. A preliminary hearing on that case was originally scheduled for Tuesday.
In August, Anderson was also convicted of violating another protective order, a class A misdemeanor, for threatening the mother, according to charging documents. Police noted in court documents that they had "several 911 hang-ups" at the Anderson home during that time.
In March, Siri's mother took a plea in abeyance to attempted aggravated assault for threatening Anderson with a knife. Anderson had sole custody of Siri for the three months prior to her death, according to the Sevier County Sheriff's Office.
Siri is survived by an older sister.
