CLEVELAND (AP) — The Indians have placed right-hander Josh Tomlin on the family medical emergency list.

Tomlin has returned to his home in Tyler, Texas to attend to a family matter and will be on the list from 3 to 5 days. Tomlin started Monday against Boston and is 11-6 with a 4.14 ERA this season.

Right-hander Danny Salazar, who has been on the 15-day disabled list with a sore elbow, will be activated Thursday and start against the White Sox. Salazar is 11-4 with a 3.38 ERA in 20 starts.
