THE WEIGHT ROOM — As the Summer Games in Rio continue in South America, we took a look at a milestone medal for Team USA.

Also, Air Force football has already won the season in terms of uniform success. But first, Michael Jordan — yes, that Michael Jordan — surprised one of his biggest fans.

Here are some of our favorite moments from the weekend.

Michael Jordan surprises biggest fan

You may remember a story from several weeks ago about one of Michael Jordan’s biggest fans playing pick-up in full MJ regalia, including this report by ksl.com.

MJ remembered it, too. The NBA’s all-time great surprised superfan Jeffrey Harrison with two boxes of gear and a personal phone call to say "thank you" for his support.

Check out Harrison’s reaction to the phone call from his idol.

And here's some of his new gear.

Mormon woman wins USA weightlifting’s first medal in 16 years

Entering the 2016 Summer Games in Rio, USA weightlifting hadn’t won a medal since 2000.

A bronze medal by Sarah Robles, a Mormon convert from California, put Stars and Stripes back on the podium.

Robles won the bronze medal in the women’s over-75-kilogram class Sunday, snapping an embarrassing drought by the United States. The last time the U.S. women won a medal in weightlifting was when Cheryl Haworth and Tara Nott won bronze in Sydney, where the sport debuted for women.

And boy, did she celebrate.

Robles finished with a 286 total, hefting 126 in the snatch and 160 in the clean and jerk. China’s Meng Suping won gold with 307 total, edging North Korea’s Kim Kuk Hyang by one.

The U.S. men haven’t won a medal since 1984.

Air Force has the best football helmets

College football is only two weeks away, and teams are unveiling special uniforms and helmet designs because of it.

But the rest of us can go home now; Air Force has won the year.

The Falcons released a video spotlighting a special uniform the players will wear Sept. 10 against Georgia State. And the helmet, officially dubbed the Legacy Series Sharktooth, is amazing.

The design is inspired by a World War II bomber, which makes the helmet even cooler.

By the way, two weeks later, the Falcons visit Utah State at Maverik Stadium. Do these helmets travel?
