(KSL News) A Utah man will spend the next three years on probation for conspiring to import hundreds of pounds of a narcotic plant into the country.
Papy Mubirigi is one of three men convicted of trying to bring khat, an African grown plant, into the U.S through the Salt Lake International Airport.
Khat is chewed to attain a high similar to that of methamphetamine.
A lawyer for Mubirigi said his client was only picking up the boxes at the airport and did not know what was in them.
