MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have placed left-hander Tommy Milone on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his left biceps muscle.

The move was made Friday before the game against Kansas City and one day after Milone gave up five runs in three innings in an emergency start in the second game of a doubleheader. In 15 games, including 12 starts, Milone has a 5.68 ERA in 65 innings with 19 walks and 43 strikeouts.

The Twins used eight pitchers, including infielder Eduardo Escobar, while giving up 25 runs in the doubleheader sweep by Houston.

Left-hander Pat Dean was recalled from Triple-A Rochester for bullpen reinforcement. In eight games for the Twins earlier this season, including six starts, Dean posted a 5.54 ERA in 39 innings with 15 walks and 28 strikeouts.
