FALLON, Nev. (AP) — Churchill County sheriff's deputies searching for a Fallon man missing for more than a month have discovered human remains in a remote part of the desert near a vehicle matching the description of his.
Captain Richard Hickox said Thursday an autopsy and comparison with dental records are pending to determine if the white male's remains are those of 61-year-old Jeff Hendrick, who last was seen on July 2.
Hendrick suffered from Parkinson's and was considered endangered because of his dependence on daily medication.
The sheriff received a report Wednesday of a suspicious vehicle parked in a secluded part of northern Nevada's high desert.
Deputies confirmed it matched the white 2000 PT cruisier Hendrick last was seen in leaving his home. They found the remains with shorts, a T-shirt and athletic shoes about a half-mile from the car.
