THIS IS LARRY MANKIN, PRESIDENT OF THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER, WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT

Here’s a report from Utah Business Week: The 22nd annual Utah Business Week began yesterday at Utah State University in Logan and runs through the 11th. This weeklong “business boot camp” for youth is put on by the Chamber to teach teens about the realities of business. Yesterday was orientation--including speakers from Utah State University, Granite and Bingham High Schools, Zions Bank, the Deseret News, and Questar. Today they will work with top representatives from O.C. Tanner, Love Communications, Westminster College, and Questar.

Insignio Media, a Salt Lake City based marketing design and production firm, recently completed a series of television and radio commercials for R.C. Willey. The commercials are airing in Utah, Idaho, and Nevada.

According to the Economic Development Corporation of Utah, they had 35 companies make actual site visits to Utah last fiscal year.

How do you celebrate 100 years of building business in Salt Lake? You honor some of the people who made it all possible! On September 14th is the Chamber’s Century Celebration Gala. We will honor all the past Chairs of the Chamber’s Board of Governors, the past recipients of A Giant in Our City, Athena Award Winners, and Giant Step Small Business Award winners. Call the Chamber now to reserve your space at 328-5050 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
